The Thuto Lesedi Star Awards.
The Thuto Lesedi Star Awards is one of the leading literary awards in South Africa, and will bring recognition, reward, and readership to outstanding local fiction and non-fiction writers.
Each year, a Star Award will be given to what is, in the opinion of the judges, the best-sustained work of fiction and non-fiction written in English and other South African official languages, and published in South Africa. Although The Star Award will not come with cash winnings, it will transform the winner’s career and enhance a dramatic increase in their book sales.
The Science of Being a Writer Workshop
Our signature author training workshop is titled, The Science of Being a Writer, with the subtitle, The Business Education Every Writer Needs. It focuses on three areas: The Art of Writing, The Process of Publishing, and The Mastery of Sales.
Publishing
Through strategic collaborations with our benefactors, we will offer full publishing services to our selected authors who are not able to pay for self-publishing fees for free, and print their books at no cost to them.
Get Me Published Writing Competition
When we get the right funding, our Foundation will run Get Me Published Writing Competition in various locations in South Africa as agreed with our benefactors.
Book Clubs
We will create book clubs from the attendees of The Science of Being a Writer workshops. We will also appoint and mentor Thuto Lesedi Ambassadors who will lead the book clubs.
Printing
We offer professional and quality printing of books to anyone who would like to print with us. All printing fees will help us run our Foundation.
